The Ambler Road will be a private industrial access road intended to facilitate mine development and transportation of ore as part of the Ambler Access Project (AAP), extending 211 miles from milepost 161 of the Dalton Highway west to the Ambler Mining District. The road alignment crosses lands owned and/or managed by federal, state, municipal, and private entities. The application requests a 450 ft wide private exclusive easement over approximately 125 miles of the road alignment on DMLW managed lands. This width is intended to accommodate the width of the road, construction activities, minor changes in alignment to adapt to conditions on the ground, and the footprint and construction of support infrastructure.
